Symptoms

In Urinary Tract Infections (UTI) the urinary tract membranes become infected and inflamed. This results in frequent urination which has associated burning and is scanty in amount. Fever is often associated. UTI’s can extend to the kidneys which is a potentially serious complication that needs medical attention. With kidney involvement the lower back and flanks can be painful. Urinary Tract Infections in women are often known as Cystitis.
