An advertisement we published on this website was misleading, contained unverified claims, and abused the trust and exploited the lack of knowledge of consumers.
The advertisement illegally promoted a number of products, including Anxiety blend, Arthritis blend, Asthma blend, Candida – internal mix, Hepatitis blend, Influenza blend, Prostatitis blend, Depression blend, Shingles blend, Ross River blend, and numerous others, for very serious diseases that require a consultation with a healthcare professional rather than self-treatment by any consumer.
In the advertisement we unlawfully made claims that products could be bought for an enormous range of therapeutic uses, without the products having been entered on the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods.
A complaint about the advertisement was recently upheld by the Complaints Resolution Panel. We provided no evidence whatsoever to support the claims we made, and the Panel found that the claims were unlawful, misleading, and unverified and breached the Therapeutic Goods Advertising Code.
The Panel therefore requested that Mullumbimby Herbals publish this retraction.
